The Greatest Chase Scenes of All Time By Lucas R Smith

Chase scenes have been around almost as long as movies. As far back as the days of the Keystone Cops and Buster Keaton, filmmakers have been thrilling audiences with exciting and exhilarating chases. Let's take a look at some of the best chases ever filmed:
Ronin (1998)
This high octane thriller was directed by the legendary John Frankenheimer and stars Robert De Niro and Jean Reno. It contains two of the most intense and realistic car chase scenes in movie history. The first chase involves a Mercedes Benz 450SEL, a BMW M5 and an Audi A8. The chase occurs as a result of an ambush that was orchestrated to steal a briefcase with unknown contents. The chase begins on a twisting road along the French Riviera. Two of the cars are eventually diverted off the road and the chase moves to a dirt road. The cars eventually end up on the narrow streets of Nice, France. The chase concludes when one car crashes into the front of a restaurant.
The second chase involves a Peugeot 406 driven by De Niro chasing a BMW M5. This chase has added excitement because it takes place on the wrong way of a busy freeway, a metro tunnel and Paris streets. The chase ends when the BMW has its tires shot out. This causes it to crash off the end of a freeway that was still under construction.
The World is Not Enough (1999)
This James Bond film starring Pierce Brosnan has an epic chase in the opening sequence of the film. A female assassin in a speedboat is pursued along the Thames River by Bond in a jet boat that is powered by a rocket. During the chase, Bond must evade a larger boat that has snipers shooting at him. During the chase, Bond must submerge the boat to pass under a bridge that has been lowered. This is not your typical boat chase. At one point, Bond takes the boat on land and crashes through a restaurant to make a shortcut. The assassin eventually tries to escape in a hot-air balloon when her boat is destroyed. Bond grabs a line attached to the balloon, but the assassin commits suicide by blowing up the balloon, sending Bond crashing onto the top of the Millennium Dome.
Bullitt (1968)
This Steve McQueen classic is generally regarded as the greatest movie car chase of all time. The 10-minute sequence was filmed on the hilly streets of San Francisco. McQueen, driving a 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback GT, chases criminals who are in a 1968 Dodge Charger. The chase is notable because Steve McQueen does all of his own driving in the sequence. This would never be allowed today. Lead actors are insured for large sums of money, so no insurance company would take that risk. However, this film was made in a different era.
New and inventive chase sequences continue to delight audiences every year. Indeed, the skill and danger involved in bringing these sequences to the big screen can not be understated.

Things To Consider Before Restoring A Classic Car By David Atkin

There are a number of things that you should consider before you dive head first in to a classic car restoration.
If you plan the project correctly you will get exactly the outcome you are looking for. There is always a reason to restore a car.
For some people it's as simple as nostalgia, it reminds them of better times. For others it's a business, and their goal is to make money restoring classic cars.
And then there are those who do it for an investment, and classic cars are a good investment if you buy the right ones.
OK now that we have that out of the way let's get down to the brass tacks of it.
There are a few things that you must have before you restore a classic car, and that is what this articles will cover.
Hopefully it helps some of you get your cars restored in the end.
This article will assume that you already have the car that you want to restore in your possession.
So you have bought the car, and it is safely parked in your garage until you can start the restoration work.
This brings us to the first item that you must have to restore your classic car.
A Garage: There is no getting around this requirement. You must have a place in doors where you can work on your car, you cannot do this in your driveway, under an awning this work absolutely requires a garage to do the work in.
The garage must have power for tools and lighting in it.
If possible it should have an air compressor installed in it.
If you have these two things then you have a great start on the things that you need to restore your classic car.
Time & Money: These are the next most important things to have before you start a car restoration project.
You will need a lot of both items, the money part depends on what you plan to do with the car what it's finished.
If you plan on doing hot rod work such as high performance engines, custom paint or custom interior you will need more money then you would for a factory restoration on the car.
In the end you can spend as much as you desire on your car by adding custom goddies, or just choosing a car that is in horrible condition to restore.
Tools & Equipment: To do the job right you will need more then just basic hand tools. You will need a torch, a mig welder, and a plasma cutter if possible.
You can get along without a plasma cutter if you need to, but it is a great help when you do this kind of work, an engine hoist, and an engine stand are required to perform the work properly.
Obviously you will need the basic hand tools also. Tools such as screw drivers, pliers, vicegrips, body hammers and dollies along with a full set of wrenches, a 3/8" drive ratchet and sockets to go with it.
These things should be enough to get a start on the work, but you will need other tools & equipment to complete the job.
I've been in the automotive business for about 20 or 25 years, I have worked in all facets of the industry, from parts to restoration, all different makes and models.

How to Sell Your Old Car for Cash in Sydney By Jett Fanning

These days, leading auto giants are flooding the market with new cars and their variants. These modern cars are well equipped with the latest technological features to provide a smooth and comfortable ride to the user. This factor has aroused interest in people to upgrade to a newer car model or all together purchase a different car. Due to the improvement in the lifestyle of people today, there is more money in the hands of the people to spend on luxury such as a car. Certainly, this aspect has also given rise to selling off the older cars that people possess so that they can buy the new ones. Obviously maintaining two cars would prove to be quite expensive when only one is needed.
However, selling your old car for cash is not an easy job at all. If it is a very old one, you will need to check it by taking it for a test ride if it is unused for many days. If you trace any issues, you need to fix it. It's better to take it to the certified mechanic for a detailed car inspection and if you can fix certain things for some money and make the car drivable without giving much trouble while driving, you will certainly get higher value for your car. Still selling the old car all by yourself is a complicated task as you will need to advertise it in the local newspaper, post some classifieds online and tell your friends and acquaintances etc.
The easiest step that people resort to these days is just to call a scrap car dealer or car wrecker and give certain details of your car and they will quote on the basis of that information. If your car is maintained well in perfect running condition, you can directly drive in your car to such a dealer and request for an instant quote that they can offer for your old car. If you think the quote provided is fairly reasonable and you are satisfied with their quote, you can sell your old car for cash to such an entity.
If your used car is completely worn out and cannot be repaired and definitely not in running condition, you can still call up such a scrap car dealer and they will come to your place, estimate and pay you cash for your old car and tow away free of cost. It is advisable to call up three to four such dealers and ask them to provide a rough estimation depending on the condition of the vehicle and kilometers and select the entity that provides you the highest bid. However make sure with them in advance that if there would be a greater variation while they actually buy the old car, you won't accept the deal.
You can earn Cash for Old Cars in Sydney by selling them to the reputed scrap car dealer. To get more details feel free to visit http://www.minacars.com.au

Classic Cars In Time For Summer By Jason J Junge

The Classic Car Club of America defines a CCCA Classic as: A "fine" or "distinctive" automobile, either American- or foreign-built, produced between 1925 and 1948. Other factors, including engine displacement, custom coachwork and luxury accessories, such as power brakes, power clutch, and "one-shot" or automatic lubrication systems, help determine whether a car is considered a Classic.
The above description is somewhat limiting, with the beginning of the classic car era more typically considered to be the 1930s, ending with the muscle car period in the 1970s. Many show top off the definition of classic in 1972, defining cars built in 1973 or later as modern customs, exotics or collectibles.
There are many reasons why people claim they like classic cars better than cars of today. Some opinions and reasons include the following:
· cars are technically better built
· cars have more "style" and beauty in their body lines
· are more solid, made with metal, rather than cheaper products like plastic
· were designed by car-lovers, not businessmen
Resale Value
Classic cars tend to hold their value well, especially if they have been well-maintained or restored. As with anything, if you are in the market to purchase, do your research and make sure you know about what make and model you are looking for and what price range would be acceptable and appropriate. If you are looking to sell, do the same so you know what a reasonable price to ask is. Most desirable cars tend to be one-owner low-mileage cars that have mostly stayed covered and very well-maintained.
There are dozens of websites dedicated to selling as well as countless auto dealerships that specialize. If you can't find what you are looking for locally, check out the internet, or plan to attend a Car Show in your area or beyond.
Classic Chevys
Classic cars come in too many makes and models to mention in this article. Although auto-makers such as AMC, Buick, Cadillac, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, Lincoln-Mercury, Oldsmobile, Plymouth and Pontiac all have produced cars that now fall in the "classic" range, American-made Chevy has some of the most iconic models. Chevy's portfolio includes the following:
· Camaro
· Chevelle
· Corvair
· Corvette
· El Camino
· Impala
· Nova
Custom Classic Cars
Along with restoring the classics, oftentimes people like to make their cars a little fancier by adding modifications known as "customizing" their car. Customizing can range from simple to very complex paint jobs, to mechanical modifications and decorative touches.
World Record Performance
The current Guinness World Record for highest car mileage is held by a 1966 Volvo P1800, which has now covered over 2.9 million miles! Volvo is one company where consumers can order parts from their local dealers to ensure the original performance of their classic car; and the parts delivered today actually have a higher quality than when the car was in production due to evolving technologies.
Whether you're looking to purchase a classic car for an investment or just for the love of it, or if you're just an enthusiast who loves the look, people seem to enjoy restoring and showcasing their vehicles all across America. You can definitely consider the it one of America's favorite pastimes.

Supercharge Your Car From the Ground Up - Without Hassle or Stress By Ulises Grimes

There is a certain thrill about buying your car fresh off the dealer's lot, but there's an even greater thrill in fine-tuning and customizing it to meet your own standards. A stock car is nice, but a customized car has a power that factory-standard cars just can't even compare to. If you're going to improve your car's performance, you have to have high end components to make it count. After all, a car will only sound as good as its weakest part. So you can't go with a low-budget muffler and expect the entire exhaust system to still sound great. It just doesn't work that way.
So at this point, you need to make sure that you're thinking about how you want to customize your car. Given the expense involved, you'll probably need to split your project into different spaces. For example, looking at a custom exhaust system might be costly, so you'll have to set that part of the project aside from the custom paint and body work that you had in mind. It's completely up to you and your budget to figure out how you're going to split up your project.
You also want to think about getting a "big picture" view of what you want your car to look and sound like. Far too often we get preoccupied with one piece of the project, not thinking about anything else that needs to be done. This is short sighted thinking that will mess with you in the long run.
Once you have a good idea of what you need and what you want your car to look like on the whole, you need to find a performance shop that you can turn to over and over again. The need for a long term working relationship with the performance shop of your choice is very simple: you need to have a good idea of what's going to be able to be done with your car. You can't do that if you're constantly having to hop from one shop to the next, looking for parts. The team behind the shop will also be able to get you items on special order and otherwise guide your steps towards a car that has its own unique sound.
Fine tuning a car is something that depends directly on the goals that you set. A proper shop will be able to listen to what you're trying to achieve and help you do that and then some, giving you more knowledge on cars than what you came into the shop with. Just ordering parts online doesn't give you the same experience at all. That's something to definitely keep in mind.
Most performance car fans have a set model that they're working on. However, what if your car preferences change? The other benefit of finding a great shop is that your preferences and changes will stay within the same shop, giving them a chance to help you no matter what you need.
If you're ready to get started on your customization journey, call up the shop that you're most interested in. Having them local to you helps because they will be able to get you just about anything else that you need. From here, it's completely up to you. Ask them questions, see what parts they would recommend, and let them help you reach your goal of a finely tuned car that you

Transporting Your Antique, Collector, or Exotic Car By Clive J Anatole

In this article, I want to discuss some specifics when it comes to transporting your antique, collector, or exotic car. In fact any luxury car owner who is looking to have their car transported can indeed benefit from this information.
As we have discussed previously there are primarily two types of car transport vehicles from which you can choose, the open air trailer and the enclosed trailer. Open air trailers can come in either single or multiple cars formats. Multiple car open air trailers can accommodate as many as twelve vehicles at once, and are often the most economical method of transporting your car. However, you should keep in mind that open air trailers offer the least amount of protection for your car, as it certainly will be either partially or fully exposed to the weather and road debris. Additionally because of the amount of cars that need to be delivered, it may take quite a while to transport your car to you resulting in slow delivery times.
On the other hand, enclosed trailers are often used for shipping classic, collectible, antique sports and luxury cars, and this is the only method you should choose if you plan on shipping your expensive vehicle. Most enclosed car transports will only ship one car at a time, and as such offer a much more personalized level of service than any open air transporter can provide.
Although shipping your car in an enclosed transport will undoubtedly be more costly than an open air transport, the benefits are well worth the additional cost as they will protect your vehicle from weather elements, road debris, and many other hazards that may cause damage to your car. And in general provide unsurpassed security and safety for your precious cargo. Additionally, enclosed transporters can not only ship cars, but can also accommodate boats and motorcycles as well. If you require VIP levels of service for your car, there is no better choice than an enclosed transport.
There are many good antique, luxury and exotic car transport companies out there to choose from, and if you are on a budget I encourage you to shop around and get several price quotes. But keep in mind that price should not be the only determining factor when choosing a car transporter. Always consider the company's history, track record, level of customer services provided, and insurance policy when making your final decision.
As always, proper research and due diligence pays off in the end.
If you need to have your vehicle transported, or you would like to get more information about various vehicle transportation options, our vehicle logistics experts will be glad to advise you.

Every car owner knows that it is very important to take good care of your car. That includes taking your car for repairs regularly. These repairs are essential because they save you from having to deal with various breakdowns and engine troubles all the time. Tires - Some people have a bad habit of driving cars with tires that are inflated or that have gone bald. It is important to always check the state of your tires before driving. Make sure that they are well pressurized and in good condition for the road. Tires that have enough pressure will help in improving the gas mileage on your car. Bald tires are likely to blow out in the middle of the road and this could cause an accident.

It does not only save you money but it also gives you a chance to know more about your car. During the detailing, you can find out what needs fixing and what needs replacing.
There are other things you could do yourself to make sure that your car stays in good condition. It is also advisable to avoid driving your car when you know you have no gas because driving on fumes in very inefficient. Doing this will damage your pump and this will only serve to cost you more. These are just a few tips to minimize the cost of your care repairs. It is always good to tell your mechanic what exactly your car needs and what repairs to make. This is to avoid your mechanic doing unnecessarily repairs and then charging you more. There is absolutely no reason why your mechanic should add parts that you didn't even know were missing. This means that you have to have a good working relationship with your mechanic and be able to trust him/her.
